We are now taking submissions for our 2011 Registry. The registry is an on-line database that will be viewed by corporate clients, collectors, gallery owners and curators. To meet the varied needs of our clients, our artist registry includes artists working in a wide range of styles and media including painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, mixed media, sculpture and installation arts. Submitted work will be evaluated based on its quality and value within our existing registry.

During this first annual open call, we will be accepting 100 Bay Area based artists into the registry. If selected your work will remain in the database for one year and will be seen by hundreds of arts professionals in the Bay Area and beyond!

The deadline to submit work is November 12th, 2010

The submission fee is $30 (non-refundable)

Submitting your work does not guarantee inclusion in the registry, the submissions will be reviewed after the deadline and artists will be informed of the jurors decisions in December 2010.

To submit your portfolio to the BayVAN Artist Registry you must first agree to the terms and conditions below. You will then be stepped through the process of creating a profile. If at anytime you need to quit, your information will be saved and can be accessed again by logging in here. MATERIALS: Artist applicants must submit the following items:

  1. An Artist Statement
  2. A Bio
  3. A current resume
  4. A total of 5 digital images of successful past artwork with indications of medium, dimensions, title, date and price. Click here to review our instructions on how to make your images ready for web viewing.

You will receive a confirmation email immediately verifying that we received your application. Within 30 days after the Open Call has ended you will be notified letting you know whether or not your portfolio has been accepted into the artist registry. All of our contracts are non-exclusive. BayVAN does not consign artwork. Instead we catalog accepted work and contact you regarding sales and leasing opportunities as they arise. If accepted into the registry you will be give a user name and password. It is the artist's responsibility to update the BayVAN Artist Registry regarding availability of cataloged work and the production of new work.

I agree to allow Bay Area Visual Arts Network (BayVAN) the use of the images and information submitted with this application as part of their on-line artist registry, for their in-house files, and to promote my individual work or the work of artists living or working in the San Francisco Bay Area. Additionally, I agree to allow BayVAN use of my images to promote the artist registry, which may include use throughout the BayVAN website or on printed promotional materials.

I affirm that I am a Bay Area based artist with a residence, workspace or studio located within the within the 9 Bay Area counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, or Sonoma).

I affirm that the work submitted is my own and does not infringe on anyone's copyright or ownership.

If you choose to accept this agreement, you will be permitted to submit an application to the registry.
